Getting around

Eight minutes to Novena

Novena station on the North-South Line is about an eight-minute walk from 7 Bassein Road. The fact sheet also records a link walk through the NTF Centre for Innovation Healthcare, roughly nine minutes and open around the clock, though it is not sheltered the whole way.

The nearest bus stops are on Balestier Road, about 351m, and Moulmein Road, about 442m. Vehicles enter from Bassein Road; the service route is off Akyab Road.

By car it is the Central Expressway for the CBD, with Thomson Road and Balestier Road either side, and the North-South Corridor under construction along Thomson Road — a 21.5km route that will change how this stretch drives north.

Healthcare on one side, shopping on the other

HealthCity Novena

The National Skin Centre, National Neuroscience Institute, Ren Ci Hospital and the National Centre for Infectious Diseases are all a few minutes’ walk. Tan Tock Seng is about ten minutes, Mount Elizabeth Novena about eight.

Everyday shopping

Square 2 and Velocity @ Novena Square sit at the station, with United Square and Goldhill Plaza beyond them, and Zhongshan Mall towards Balestier.

2 Moulmein Road

A new lifestyle hub is under construction nearby — retail, dining and everyday conveniences. It is not built yet, and the developer’s material is an artist’s impression of it.

Green space

Novena Park is about eight minutes’ walk, Zhongshan Park and Novena Rise Park about ten. The Whampoa Park Connector is a short drive, and the proposed Green Corridor runs west of the site.

Orchard and the CBD

Newton is one stop and Orchard two on the North-South Line. Far East’s own material puts the CBD at about ten minutes by car via the expressways — their estimate, not a measured one.

Higher education

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (NTU) is about three minutes’ walk, with the Future Medical Education & Training Development site beside it.
